Consumers have been told not to eat four types of filled wraps and fajitas included in a Summit Foods recall after the possible presence of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli was identified during testing.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the recalled products are individually packaged items sold under several brand names. They are the Snacksters Chicken Fajita Wrap, Snacksters Hoi Sin Wrap, East Street Deli Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap and Target a Snack Chicken Fajita Wrap.
All products covered by the Summit Foods recall have use-by dates up to and including September 5, 2026. The FSA advised anyone who has bought one of the affected products not to eat it and to dispose of it.

The concern relates to E. coli that can produce Shiga toxin, known as STEC. The FSA said infection can cause severe diarrhoea, including bloody diarrhoea, as well as abdominal pain.
In some cases, the infection can lead to haemolytic uraemic syndrome, or HUS. The watchdog described HUS as a serious condition that can result in kidney failure and may be fatal.
People who develop symptoms have also been advised to stay away from work, school or nursery until they have been free of symptoms for at least 48 hours. The guidance is intended to reduce the risk of passing the infection to other people.
The Summit Foods recall followed the company’s routine testing programme. Summit Foods said it had identified a potential food safety issue affecting a small number of its wrap products and was working with authorities and customers to withdraw the affected items.
In a statement, the company said consumer safety was its highest priority and apologised for any concern or inconvenience caused by the recall.
How to claim a refund
Customers seeking a refund can send proof of purchase to [email protected]. The recall advice applies to the named products with use-by dates up to and including September 5, 2026.
The FSA’s warning covers possible contamination rather than confirmation that every item in the affected range contains STEC. However, people who have purchased the listed products are advised not to consume them and to dispose of them.
Anyone experiencing severe diarrhoea, bloody diarrhoea or abdominal pain should follow relevant health advice. The FSA specifically highlighted the potential seriousness of STEC infection and the importance of remaining away from work, school or nursery for at least 48 hours after symptoms have stopped.
The Summit Foods recall affects products sold as Snacksters, East Street Deli and Target a Snack. No other products were identified in the supplied recall notice.
