Passengers were ordered to leave a Jet2 flight bound for London after a reported bomb threat at Tenerife South Airport.
Guardia Civil officers checked the Jet2 plane travelling to London Stansted after Atlantic Hoy reported that one person had made a bomb threat. Passengers had already boarded before they were told to disembark.
The aircraft’s luggage and passengers were checked as a precaution before it was given the all-clear. Some flights at Tenerife South Airport were briefly disrupted following the incident.
Flight later landed at Stansted
The incident involved Jet2 flight LS1536, which was scheduled to leave Tenerife South Airport at 11.20am. The Boeing 737 took off at about 2pm instead, according to Flightradar24.
The plane landed at London Stansted at 5.49pm.
A Jet2 spokesperson confirmed that customers had been asked to disembark following an incident involving a passenger onboard. The airline said customers had reboarded and that the flight had landed at London Stansted as planned, while apologising for the delay and inconvenience.
